Measurement Principle

The tester measures how much water is absorbed by the surface of paper or cardboard per unit area under specific pressure, temperature, and time.

Cobb Value Formula

C = (G2 - G1) × 100

Where:

• C = Adjustable water absorption value / Cobb value
• G1 = Mass of sample before water absorption
• G2 = Mass of sample after water absorption
